“In the beginning God (Elohim) created [by forming from nothing] the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 AMP
Unbelievers prefer to not take part in or to be spiritually enlightened about Salvation. Unbelievers do not know God and question God’s existence. It’s quite easy to see why they would think that “such a God would not love them” or that they “will be condemned, without someone to advocate on their behalf”. However, this is a false view driven by fear and the truth is biblically supported and explored further in this blog.
Summary of Genesis 1:
In the beginning – God started creation
1st day – light was created
2nd day – the sky was created
3rd day – dry land, seas, plants and trees were created
4th day – the Sun, Moon and stars were created
5th day – creatures that live in the sea and creatures that fly were created
6th day – animals that live on the land and finally humans, made in the image of God were created
7th day (the Sabbath day) – God finished His work of creation and rested, making the seventh day a special holy day. We were made in God’s image so this is why we should rest on the seventh day. We should use this day to give God thanks. Our spirit also needs to reset by meditation and sleep. Work is good but overwork turns slavery, which is not good.
Our creation alone is proof of God’s existence
“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And the expanse [of heaven] is declaring the work of His hands.” Psalms 19:1 AMP
Our creation declares the work of God’s hands. I strongly believe that any doubt in God stems from selfishness because many of us are too self absorbed in our lifestyle. In order to maintain what we want we chose to become blinded to the truth. That is the main reason why we need people to evangelise, so those who are in the dark can be led or reminded to internally reflect on their behaviour. This allows the Holy Spirit to plant a seed in us, which leads to conviction and sometimes if we’re not too stubborn it also leads to spiritual transformation. Therefore, we always need to be reminded that God is the Alpha, the Omega, the beginning and the end.
We cannot see God or the wind, but does this mean they don’t exist?
“Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].”
Hebrews 11:1 AMP
Faith cannot be experienced with our physical senses of sight, smell, hearing and taste. For example, we cannot see the wind or our consciousness but we can feel the effects of them. That is not a coincidence. It is a Godcidence which helps us to understand how powerful God is.
We cannot create the solar system, so who created it?
““Can you bind the chains of [the cluster of stars called] Pleiades, Or loose the cords of [the constellation] Orion? Can you lead forth a constellation in its season, And guide [the stars of] the Bear with her sons? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens, Or [can you] establish their rule over the earth?”
Job 38:31-33 AMP
God’s mighty power is seen in Job when Job begins to asks God some profound and rhetorical questions. Even Elihu reminds Job that although he is a righteous man, he will still suffer and he must remember that his righteousness is not more than God’s. None of us are better than God so we all need God. Even if we are the opposite of Job and think that we are unrighteous or not good enough. We all need a reason and purpose for life. God can provide this because He is the creator of our purpose.
Humans have always been amazed by the universe. Every single one of us, at one point of our lives, have stared up at the stars and said “wow”. The stars are so marvellous to us that we became distracted and sometimes more interested in science (the creation) than God (the creator). Around the 18th and 19th centuries religion was no longer “enough” and science took the pedestal. However, scientists still do not know how the Earth was formed or how it is kept together. They can only speculate. That’s why there are several theories.
Scientists do not have the answer
““For they are a nation devoid of counsel, And there is no understanding in them.” Deuteronomy 32:28 AMP
The breakdown of our faith in the Bible for a reliance on science began many years ago. The Big Bang theory was proposed in the 1920s by Alexander Friedman, a Russian mathematician, a Belgian physicist, and also a Roman Catholic priest (not many people know this, but was he a true believer?). He provided a possible scientific explanation for the creation of the universe and it didn’t stop there. This is why science and religion do not mix well. We have to be radically faithful in our belief or we will lose hope and become hopeless in trying to search for a reason and a purpose everywhere else.
Not all scientists agreed with the Big Bang theory as the process of this theory had flaws. In the 20th century, there are now several theories of the “beginning”. One theory proposes that we evolved from monkeys (proven to have flaws as well). Each theory was tested over and over again and scientists still do not have the answers. They do not know which theory is correct because it happened billions of years ago.
Let’s call a spade a spade! Unbelievers would rather waste their life trying to predict what happened billions of years ago rather than get their hearts right with God. There is enough proof in the universe for us to believe and worship God, but the fact is that an unbeliever hardens their heart and turns a blind eye to God so they cannot understand Him or grasp Him.
God has all the answers that we seek and more!
“Counsel is mine and sound wisdom; I am understanding, power and strength are mine.” Proverbs 8:14 AMP
God is everlasting and He has an unconditional love for us, His creation. Therefore, it does not matter if we do not understand God because He understands us and will always fight for us until our end. Spiritually speaking this is our first death before Judgment Day. God is above all gods. He encompasses justice and holiness. This is the main reason why we should not worship other gods or create idols to worship instead of God. We should worship God and God alone to give Him thanks for everything that we have in this universe. God did not “create” the iPhone, but He provided us with the elements to create it. God did not “create” the Bible, but He provided us with the Holy Spirit to plant seeds of knowledge so we can testify and write God’s words. Worshipping God is honestly the least that we can do.
God is our JUDGE and Jesus is our SAVIOUR
“My little children (believers, dear ones), I am writing you these things so that you will not sin and violate God’s law. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate [who will intercede for us] with the Father: Jesus Christ the righteous [the upright, the just One, who conforms to the Father’s will in every way—purpose, thought, and action]. And He [that same Jesus] is the propitiation for our sins [the atoning sacrifice that holds back the wrath of God that would otherwise be directed at us because of our sinful nature—our worldliness, our lifestyle]; and not for ours alone, but also for [the sins of all believers throughout] the whole world.” 1 John 2:1-2 Awww AMP
God loved us so much that He sent his only Son to die for our sins, so that anyone who believes in Him can have everlasting life. If you receive Jesus in your life He will fight for you and advocate with God on your behalf. We receive God’s grace through Jesus. God does not necessarily forsake us or leave us. He is omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (knows everything), and omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time). So why God turn from us in the end? Theologians state, quite rightfully, that God does not like sin. The reason for condemnation is sin, not humans. But there is good news! Jesus died for every single human so that we can have a restored relationship with God and be able to stand in His presence even if we have sinned.
“For it would have been better for them not to have [personally] known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to have turned back from the holy commandment [verbally] handed on to them. The thing spoken of in the true proverb has happened to them, “THE DOG RETURNS TO HIS OWN VOMIT,” and, “A sow is washed only to wallow [again] in the mire.””
2 Peter 2:21-22 AMP
We have to acknowledge that we are not perfect and grow into spiritual transformation everyday by recognising who God is, recognise we are sinners, repent, pray for God to forgive us of our sins and we will receive forgiveness over our life. But salvation is a heart condition, so if we receive forgiveness and then choose to live a sinful life after without conviction and change then we are choosing to reject God and therefore we cannot complain if He rejects us in return. We should be radically obedient to the truth because now we know and we cannot pretend to be ignorant because God knows our hearts. God knows everything, so we are only fooling ourselves when we think that we can “hide from God”.
“For [God does not overlook sin and] the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who in their wickedness suppress and stifle the truth,”
Romans 1:18 AMP
“He who has an ear, let him hear and heed what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God] will not be hurt by the second death (the lake of fire).’” Revelation 2:11 AMP
If you are reading this, that means you are alive, so it is not too late to repent. It will be too late to repent and reflect on your ways after your first death. We will all have to face God and give an account to Him on Judgment Day of how we spent our time before our first death. If we chose not to overcome sin we will not be spiritually awakened and will face a second death. However, if you are reading this that means that you woke up this morning with a seed of belief planted in your heart and regardless of your circumstances you have been blessed with another day to be spiritually awakened.
