Lately, I find myself being worked up and concerned if we will ever conquer the domino effect of the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Then, I remember God will “keep” us in every obstacle that we face. As believers we should trust God and not over worry about such things. But let’s be real we are going to worry and unfortunately this is a reflex for some over thinkers, like myself. But we can only face challenges and obstacles with clarity by standing on the word of God and trusting in God‘s promises.
When we genuinely live by God’s Grace and promises we learn to know the will and word of God. We can seek God and ask Him to renew our minds so we can receive the miracle of spiritual transformation. We waste our time lamenting on the loss of materialistic things during this pandemic. But God never promised to give us materialistic things. God promises to give us an eternal life of peace (a graceful reward after being in a world of constant suffering) and the spiritual ability to bear fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.Against such things there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23 AMP
We have to accept this new reality and let go of knowing it all and having an answer. Once we let go of “control” we can lean on God’s promises. We can then have reverence for God and be able to have the faith to ask Him to help us change our perspective of life.
There are two major and obvious steps that stand out to me which can assist with building faith in this new reality. These steps have really helped me to face my constant (it’s a daily battle) fears and anxieties.
Step 1: Have a deep level of reverence for God! Be in a place where nothing is more important than God. The circumstances force us to remove most materialistic things from the pedestal in our life. We should use this time for God because transformation takes place when we consciously put God first.
Step 2: See the hand of God in everything! The pandemic is a grim topic, but God is still on the other end of that negative abysmal pit of a topic. We need to unite as a community and take a leap of faith during these times by allowing God to use each and every one of us to sew a seed of hope, love and support.
