How Has God Mothered Me?
Both male and female were made in God’s image, so there is a nurturing and maternal side of God. Just like my mom I can always go to God for comfort and guidance and He (the masculine side is recognised as the head out of reverence and submission) always provides what I “need” even when I don’t deserve it! This is amazing news to the motherless because God’s love is abundant so there is a vast amount to share. God’s love is unconditional. This means that anyone can come to God just as they are.
““What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them gets lost, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountain and go in search of the one that is lost? And if it turns out that he finds it, I assure you and most solemnly say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that did not get lost. So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones be lost.”
Matthew 18:12-14 AMP
The Bible tells us that God is our shepherd. He leads us besides still waters to quench our thirst. He ensures that we do not become dehydrated or easily led astray from home. God does not want any of His sheep to get lost on their way to His Kingdom. So even if I am led astray He will not forget me. God would leave the masses to find one battered, bruised, crushed, broken, defeated and lost sheep. God loves us and He will forgive us no matter what we do. Just like our mother, all God asks for is our love, patience and respect. With these things we are able to build our faith and have a special relationship that encourages us to love and forgive others as well.
God mothered me before I was in my mother’s womb. He knew our names millennials ago and He knows the makeup of our DNA. However, unlike a mother, who can show selective tendencies to her children, God does not play favourites and He yearns to be united with ALL of His children one day. God is a super mother!
Cheers to all women mothering children!
God’s has the perfect love of a mother … “who comforts and encourages us in every trouble so that we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted …”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 AMP
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the women mothering children. I really cannot stress how important it is to recognise these women. A mother expresses the unconditional love of God, which is gentle yet powerful and impossible to forget. So do not leave them out because a majority of the mothers in this world are not biological. I am proud of you and I plead for more women to step up to the plate and mother the children in their lives, however they can.
Thank you God for mothering me and blessing me with mothering women who play a huge part in nourishing my life 🙏🏾
